Project Assistant Professor and Researcher Positions
Introduction
Shinagawa Laboratory is seeking candidates for the positions of Project Assistant Professor and **Project Researcher.
Our research focuses on System Software, including operating systems, hypervisors, and trusted execution environments (TEEs). We especially welcome candidates who have a strong interest or experience in low-level (deep) system software. However, we are open to a broad range of topics within the field of system software.
Please note that our lab does not focus on artificial intelligence (AI) research, such as machine learning or deep learning, as a primary topic.
We are looking for individuals who are eager to challenge themselves by submitting their research to top-tier conferences in system software and related areas, such as SOSP, OSDI, EuroSys, USENIX ATC, SoCC, ASPLOS, IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, USENIX Security, NDSS, FAST, and so on. We expect the candidates to have a few conference papers in that field (possibly CORE Rank A*, A, or B).
Currently, we are conducting a research project funded by JST CREST titled “A Comprehensive Security Infrastructure System with Isolated Execution and Formal Verification”, which runs from October 2022 to March 2028. Project Assistant Professors and Project Researchers will be primarily engaged in this project. A strong interest in engaging in international collaborative research is also highly valued.
For those applying for a Project Assistant Professor position, we also expect active involvement in supervising and mentoring students in the lab.
Application Process
If you are interested, please feel free to (informally) contact Professor Shinagawa directly for more details.
