π Professor Shinagawa Receives IPSJ Research Contribution Award
Recognized for Four Years of Leadership as Chair of the OS Research Group

Professor Shinagawa has been honored with the IPSJ Research Contribution Award.
This award recognizes his outstanding service as Chair of the System Software and Operating System Research Group (OS Research Group) of the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ), where he led the group from FY2021 to FY2024 and made significant contributions to its development.
The OS Research Group is one of Japanβs leading academic communities in the field of operating systems and systems software. The group is managed by a committee consisting of a Chair, secretaries, and members, and provides an active platform for researchers and students to share and discuss the latest research findings.
As Chair, Professor Shinagawa promoted various initiatives to revitalize the group, including modernizing the official website, enhancing online communication through platforms such as X, Facebook, and Slack, increasing membership, and strengthening collaboration with industry by introducing annual sponsorship programs.
